Belgian block borders give a driveway a crisp, finished edge and a classic New England look. StoneForge Paving & Masonry installs granite Belgian block borders, curbing and aprons set in concrete, so they stay straight and protect the edge of your driveway for years.
Granite block is extremely durable and stands up to plows, tires and de-icing salt. A border stops asphalt edges from crumbling, keeps gravel in place, guides water and visually frames the driveway and lawn for stronger curb appeal.
We install Belgian block in Stamford, Greenwich and Norwalk. Borders work well alongside asphalt driveways, gravel driveways and paver driveways.
Options include flush or raised borders, single or double rows, curved and straight runs, curbing along the street, and Belgian block aprons and entrance accents.
Cost depends on the total length of border, flush or raised installation, the number of rows, curves and cuts, and whether the driveway edge needs to be cut back and patched. We give a free written estimate after measuring.

Each block is set by hand in concrete so the line stays true for years.

Questions we often hear about adding granite block edging to a driveway.
Yes. We saw-cut the edge of the existing asphalt or concrete, set the blocks in concrete and patch the driveway edge so the two surfaces meet cleanly.
Flush borders are easier to plow and drive over, while raised borders act as a curb that guides water and keeps cars on the driveway. Many homeowners choose flush along the driveway and raised at the street.
Granite is extremely tough, and blocks set properly in concrete rarely move. Plow operators should still keep blades slightly raised over raised borders.
Both are options. Reclaimed granite block has a weathered, historic look, while new block is more uniform. We can help you compare them before you decide.
Yes. A Belgian block apron or entrance accent pairs well with the border and handles the heavy wear at the street.
